Hello and welcome to this page which is mainly about my key studies module at Middlesex University.

Key Studies In general 

The key studies lab and lectures are mainly about helping students with different writing skills when it comes down to their assignments. for instance they go through the different forms of writing i.e. play writing as well as questionnaires. it is actually quite helpful because it shows you how to you could break down information and how it could be written. for instance some people may get lost in writing long reports so they show you how to set it out, how long you should be spending on them a day etc. there are two modules within the key studies lessons. they are Mathematics and English.you will find information on Mathematics on another page.  

My course work 

in Key studies i currently have two pieces of course work which are done in groups that we have chosen. the first peace is about creating a play. this play is to be written and preformed either in front of the class or on a presentation to the others in the class. the topic can be many things but university based. for instance some people may be deciding on having the characters at university that are having hard problems with work or personal matters. 

in my group we originally decided we were going to create a play about someone that has been murdered at a university party. 

However with weeks going on and finding we have more work in other sessions that we thought, we are thinking about changing it to something a little bit simpler. for instance if we were to choose to stay on the path we said when being released the assignment we would have to find other students to take part, a location to film a party and record all of this. but because of the amount of work we have we think it would be better to have it based on something like having problems with completion of working which causes stress between each other. 

the other course work we have is within different groups. in this one we have to find out what problems science and technology students have with mathematics and how they can be resolved. in this one i am in a group of 5. i am glad with the group i have as they are encouraged to complete it with ease. during this assignment we are creating questionnaires to find information and then turn them into interviews etc. my role in the group is one of the researchers. this is because i think that i will be most useful in this line of work and kind find some pretty useful ideas to help us. so far we have just started on the work really and need to arrange times on when to meet and properly go through it and make sure we have everything. 

Sum Up 

In the information above i have mentioned above what the main areas are within my Key Studies module. for instance what they help us with and what assignments i am currently doing. i think that it is very useful that this is part of my university learning experience because university is very different in the way of learning to what i was used to at college. At college it was simply reports after reports after reports that were all in the same format and became very boring. with this module it is showing me different way to get information onto paper.
